ANTIVAX – According to a publication on social networks, the drug regulator in Argentina has recognized “the presence of graphene” in the vaccine against Covid-19 from the AstraZeneca laboratory. It’s wrong.

It is a small bombshell in the eyes of activists in the anti-vaccine sphere. Against all expectations, the health authorities in Argentina would have recognized “the presence of graphene” in AstraZeneca’s vaccine. An announcement that would confirm what conspirators have been saying for several months: pharmaceutical companies are secretly using this material in their product. What is it really?

A typo”
The publication on the subject cites the file “IF-2021-120912800-APN-DECBR#ANMAT”. As the acronym at the end of the title shows, the document comes from the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT), the equivalent of the National Medicines Agency, in Argentina . Resulting from a preliminary investigation, made public on December 13, 2021 in Buenos Aires, this document is available online on the ANMAT website.
However, we find there exactly the file put in screenshot in the publication. It reads that the considerations relate to a batch of the AstraZeneca vaccine. And, as underlined in red by the Internet user, we discover “that with regard to the composition of the vaccine in question (…) graphene is one of the components of it”. What confirms the fears of anti-vaccine activists, who have been ensuring for several months that laboratories have been using this product. Like those who wrongly asserted, last July, that a “study” conducted by Spanish researchers would have demonstrated that graphene oxide was hiding in the vials of Pfizer doses.

An astonishing statement from the Argentine regulator. Especially since these are not conclusions made after analysis of samples from this batch, as the document emphasizes, but “statements” from the manufacturer. However, graphene is not one of the components of the product marketed by AstraZeneca against Covid-19, as can be read in this document from the European Medicines Agency (section 6).
So how to explain it? This is actually… a typographical error. While the ANMAT document did indicate that graphene was one of the ingredients of the vaccine, the agency clarified on January 17 that this sentence should initially be negative. “The information on the graphene content stems from a typing error”said the Argentine regulator.
