Haven Studios: Jade Raymond’s studio game will be released on PS5 and PC

The article tells us that Sony initially asked Jade Raymond’s team to submit three ambitious game projects to then finance the production of the one that would be deemed the most promising. According to the former Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and Stadia, the management of PlayStation seems to have been thrilled since it offered Haven Studios to make two or three games. “But we decided to focus on a first title to start“, confirms Jade Raymond.

We are also progressing slightly on the robot portrait of this title. While the development team’s credentials point to series like The Sims, Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six Siege, Tomb Raider, and Star Wars Battlefront, Haven Studios’ debut game will take the form “a persistent and scalable online environment accessible by PC or PlayStation console“, which informs us in passing of the plans for a PC release in addition to the PS5.

While the concept of the game remains a mystery, the studio is dedicated to maintaining a caring and inclusive environment. “These environments are not only games, they are also social platforms for many players. It has to stay that way. To last, a game must remain pleasant to visit“, comments co-founder Paola Jouyaux.

His game may be expected on PC, but Haven Studios above all seeks to exploit the capacities of the PS5 to the maximum, to the point that a special collaboration with its architect Mark Cerny would be on the program. “Our ambition will be to further push the technical capabilities of the console“, confirms Jade Raymond. “We will have the opportunity to work with people at Sony who are among the best in the world in their field. This will allow us to create the best quality games“, adds Paola Jouyaux.

Finally, we learn that Haven Studios hires routinely include shares in the studio, a popular method among young tech companies battling to attract talent. “Everyone is an owner and can participate in the future of Haven“, notes Jade Raymond. Notable detail, there are still no job offers on the Haven Studios site and the only announcement on LinkedIn is for the position of IT support technician. Largely composed of past acquaintances from Stadia, EA and especially Ubisoft, the team in place seems to have essentially been formed by cooptation.
