The English actress Haydn Gwynne is dead. As her agent announced in a statement on Friday, Gwynne died of cancer at the age of 66. According to the BBC, the actress died in the early hours of October 20th surrounded by her beloved sons, family and friends. They would like to thank the staff at the Royal Marsden Clinic and Brompton Hospital “for their wonderful care over the last few weeks”. It is also said that the diagnosis was only made recently.

Her colleague Helen Mirren (78) also spoke out about Gwynne’s death via Instagram: “Haydn was a wonderful person and an accomplished, committed actress.” She was funny and serious at the same time, which was a brilliant balancing act. This would be an example for her entire career. “We will miss her,” the Oscar winner concludes her eulogy.
