Hazel Brugger wants to slow down and has announced that she wants to take a break. She was in poor health, she says.

Hazel Brugger, 28, wants to take a break. The comedian announced this on Twitter. There she wrote that she had “been in poor health for a long time, exhausted”. She will “use the circumstances to take a break, which I haven’t had since the beginning of pregnancy, yes, since the beginning of the pandemic, i.e. a good 2 years”.

Hazel Brugger received death threats

She underestimated touring as a mother, she explained. Being an artist during the corona pandemic with postponements and cancellations was also exhausting. After positive statements about the vaccination, she received death threats, she also revealed.

She added that she’s been on a break for a few weeks. Her husband, the comedian Thomas Spitzer, 33, managed everything during this time – “the nights with the baby, the company, finances, etc.” She is “doing much better,” Brugger continues in the statement. “I’m actually doing really well, but I mustn’t misinterpret this high and I want to continue to take it easy.”

She will now try to step back and “radically change” her life and “hopefully regain confidence in being an artist at some point”. The 28-year-old continues: “I know that I’m good at what I do and I know that I really enjoy my work.” But she just needs a little time right now.

“It was too much”

In addition, the TV star “is aimed at all young mothers who have asked themselves in the last year: ‘How does Hazel do it all?'” She “didn’t make it and it was too much and above all: It got to me at some point wasn’t fun anymore and that can’t really be it”. As a mother, it is more important to her than ever to show her child that life is worth living. She looks forward to spending time with family.

In April 2021, the winner of the German Comedy Award 2020 announced that she had become a mother a few weeks earlier. On Instagram she wrote about a picture in which she kisses her daughter’s hand: “All three of us are overjoyed and tired.” The “heute-show” star has been married to Thomas Spitzer since 2020.
