The individual’s modus operandi was unusual to say the least: posing as a seller of game consoles at knockdown prices, it attracted many victims looking for bargains. The consoles, allegedly out of stock in stores, were offered at prices several hundred euros lower than market prices. The victimsconvinced by the promise of a golden deal, hastened to pay the requested amountsto finally find ourselves without news of their purchase so hoped for.

Which particularly simplified the work of investigatorsis that the crook did not hesitate to provide your real identity and his bank details. His criminal record, with convictions for similar facts, only reinforced the court’s decision. The sentence handed down by the court was twelve months in prison, four of which were suspended for two years, including obligations for care and compensation for victims. The firm part of the sentence must be carried out under an electronic bracelet, which represents a less severe measure than incarceration but nevertheless significant, given the nature of the facts.
