This Friday, October 21 in Montmagny (Val-d’Oise), a 22-year-old young man appeared in court after selling fake sick leaves on Snapchat and pocketing thousands of euros.

A scammer has just been unmasked. In Montmagny in Val-d’Oise, a 22-year-old man appeared in court this Friday, October 21 for fraudulent alteration of the truth in a writing and use of forgery in writing. The individual was indeed selling false sick leaves on social networks, in particular on Snapchat as reported The Val-d’Oise Gazette.

To achieve his ends, the young man first impersonated doctors before reselling Cerfa documents. These scams carried out regularly would have allowed him to pocket the tidy sum of €37,530 according to investigators.

A successful search of the young man’s home

On October 19, the police went to the family house of the suspect in order to carry out a search. This will have been more than conclusive since the police have found €2,395 in cash. But that’s not all. In addition to sick leaves, the 22-year-old man also falsified gift vouchers and meal vouchers. 74 meal tickets worth 703 euros and 192 gift vouchers worth 3,840 euros were also found. The investigators thus got their hands on his ‘working tools’, i.e. several Cerfa documents offering sick leave, a new block of documents for carrying out medical prescriptions for transport or even a box of work stoppage sheets.

In addition, Cerfa documents belonging to a Parisian doctor and an ink pad from a practitioner from Argenteuil were also found in the family home of the 22-year-old young man. The latter went to the Enghien police station the day after the search but although he admits having made and sold false sick leaves, he denies having done the same for gift vouchers and restaurant tickets.
