Michèle Bernier on Bouvard’s little theater: “We did sketches with nothing”
“It was a great school“, remarked Damien Thévenot to him. “Had to provide, write all day. Present the sketches to Philippe Bouvard. In addition, then he was very demanding. That is to say, if it wasn’t laughing after 30 seconds, it would say: ‘not goodbye’. So, it was necessary to write effectively, very quickly. We didn’t have time to rehearse. Besides, it shows because we look at each other a little… But that’s what actually worked. This kind of instant side that gave the impression of improvisation. We didn’t have much. We were doing sketches with nothing, which was absolutely brilliant“, explained Michèle Bernier. A particular school whose lessons the actress still applies today.
