Head-on accident – car shot down rescue: three passengers injured

Three injured, that’s the result of a head-on collision between an ambulance and a pickup truck. The ambulance was apparently “shot down” by the car. The initial report of the accident sounded bad, but luckily the injuries don’t seem to be too serious.

The accident happened on Thursday afternoon on the Voralpenstrasse between Bad Hall and Rohr im Kremstal in the town of Hehenberg. A car, more precisely a pickup truck, had apparently gotten onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with the oncoming ambulance. No patient on board. The ambulance had been traveling without patients, but two paramedics and the driver of the pickup truck were injured. Initially, the alerted emergency services assumed that people were trapped, but at the scene of the accident it turned out, to everyone’s relief, that the three injured people had only suffered minor injuries and had already gotten out of the vehicles. As a precaution, everyone came to the Wels Clinic to be checked. Closed for an hourThe B122 Voralpenstrasse was closed between Bad Hall and Rohr im Kremstal for around an hour. The fire department set up a large-scale diversion.
