The new documentary series about the lingerie label “Victoria’s Secret” is making waves. However, Heidi Klum is unimpressed and is now protecting her former employer.

Heidi Klum, 49, ran for the well-known US underwear label for the first time in 1997. After gracing the cover of “Sports Illustrated” a year later, she made her breakthrough. From 1999 to 2010, the model was one of the most famous and popular “Victoria’s Secret” angels.

Hulu’s three-part documentary series “Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons” now pillories the brand: abuse, lack of diversity, promotion of eating disorders and the connection between CEO Leslie H. Wexner, 84, and Jeffrey Epstein, † 66, are criticized. Heidi Klum now comments on the documentary and describes it as “boring”.

Heidi Klum fondly remembers her time at “Victoria’s Secret”.

Models and employees have their say in the series, but Heidi “never met” these people, as she now tells in the “Just for Variety” podcast. “Hardly anyone I knew was on that show. I didn’t know who half of these people were, so I was like, ‘Who is everyone talking about?'” she says.

She is mentioned in the documentary as a long-standing “Victoria’s Secret” angel, but the 49-year-old did not want to participate. “They asked me if I wanted to be there, but I said, ‘If you’re looking for a negative story, you’re on the wrong track, because I had a wonderful time there,'” she continues.

“It’s like a slap in the face for me”

The Engel team at the time, including Tyra Banks, 48, Gisele Bundchen, 42, and Adriana Lima, 41, was like a “family” for Heidi, which is why it was difficult for her to believe the allegations against the group. “We just had the best time together. When I hear all these stories, it’s like a slap in the face to me.”

And further: “When they accuse different people of doing something, I’m like, ‘Gosh, did that really happen?’ I dont know.” Therefore, she hoped for further and more in-depth insights into the documentary, which, according to her, did not materialize, so Heidi Klum “didn’t follow the series any further”.
