Heino mourns his Hannelore: images of a film-like love

On November 8, 2023, what Heino, 84, had always feared happened: his Hannelore died. After the pop star had to stop recording a Sat.1 show that day to rush to his beloved wife’s sickbed, Hannelore closed her eyes forever. She suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and every attempt at resuscitation was unsuccessful. Hannelore Kramm was 81 years old.

“I always wish that one day we would go together”

The singer and the former Austrian actress were married for 44 years. “I can’t and don’t want to imagine a life without Hannelore,” Heino once told “Bild”. Now he has to try – even if he always imagined his last years to be different. “I always wish that we would go together one day, but I don’t know how yet. Unfortunately, you can’t choose – God decides that,” Heino revealed in an interview with Online on the occasion of his 40th wedding anniversary -Portal “MADONNA.at”. He even once said to “Bild”:

I would like to leave this world before my Hannelore.

Heino cared for his Hannelore until the last day

But everything was to turn out differently. The last years of his life’s love were marked by a lot of suffering, the pop star had to take care of his Hannelore. “Now I’m taking care of Hannelore. She had a car accident in the 1970s and that’s making itself felt now. She can’t walk like she used to, she now has a walker. Now I have to look after Hannelore I like to do that too,” said Heino in November 2023. He knew what his loved one was doing: “I would look after Hannelore until the end, then she can die in my arms.”

And that’s what she did. It was only a week after Hannelore’s death that the musician made the death of his great love public. “It was Heino’s express wish to be able to say goodbye to his beloved wife in silence,” his manager Helmut Werner told “Bild” on November 15th.
