Detonation on Monday afternoon in Vienna-Donaustadt: a power box exploded on a construction site for reasons that were still unknown. A large contingent of emergency services was on the spot.
It was used around 5.30 p.m. “In the area of a construction site in Bertha-von-Suttner-Gasse, there was a minor explosion,” confirmed a spokesman for the professional fire brigade on request. Firefighters with several vehicles, as well as the ambulance and police, moved to the scene of the incident. The situation was already under control, it said. The incident did not result in any injuries. The reason for the explosion is unclear, the employees of the electricity grid operator were already on site.
