A fifty-something was struck by a vehicle whose driver did not stop, during the night from Saturday to Sunday in Béziers (Hérault).
“I confirm the death after percussion by a vehicle which fled and whose driver then lost control about 200 meters further by falling into a ditch,” said the prosecutor of Béziers, Raphaël Balland.
Two men who were in the vehicle were arrested and taken into custody, he added.
A voluntary act?
At this stage “the facts are still confused” and the investigators are wondering about “a possible voluntary act”, explained Raphaël Balland.
According to a police source, the two men had been asked to leave a restaurant following a brawl.
