But not only… While there is currently 4,000 references already out of stock or “at risk of rupture” according to the president of the Union of Community Pharmacists’ Unions (Franceinfo), which forces doctors who are well aware of the situation to work differently to secure their patients.

These shortages which have become recurring are linked to production that does not correspond to demand and needs according to the president of the UPSO Pierre-Olivier Variot, who demands more “transparency in the circuit” between the places of production and those of sale which constitute pharmacies. For him, the increase in the consumption of certain treatments, for weight loss for example, made from Ozempic, favors a growing demand for the molecule which could be used in the manufacture of other drugs.
