Oppo’s ColorOS 14 announcement reveals that the Chinese tech giant has invested a lot of effort into its Android interface.

Oppo recently unveiled its ColorOS 14 interface during a developer event.

This update, designed for Android 14, promises not only an aesthetic improvement but also a series of technical advances. The first to benefit will be users of the OnePlus 12, Oppo Find X7, and Oppo Reno 11. Yes, smartphones that have not yet been announced.

Optimization and clean design

One of the biggest improvements in ColorOS 14 is the optimization of over 600 details, which would bring a more intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user interface. Oppo introduced Aquatic Design in 2023, a design approach that is characterized by its fluidity and clarity. This update brings subtle, but significant changes to font sizes, icons, and controllers, making the user experience more consistent.

Then there’s a bit of inspiration from Apple. In fact, Oppo has unveiled the technology FluidCloud, a feature inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island solution. It allows you to display adaptive controls in the notification bar, compatible with a range of devices such as phones, tablets and watches. This cross-platform integration should ensure a consistent user experience across different devices.

In terms of performance, ColorOS 14 announced that it would use an intensive computing platform to guarantee constant fluidity, even after a million starts.

AI Integration and Wide Compatibility

The integration of artificial intelligence is another highlight of ColorOS 14. Oppo announced support for large AI models, including AndesGPT, a language model based on the GPT language model. This model, trained on a large corpus of textual data, is capable of performing complex natural language processing tasks, thus providing an enriched and personalized user experience.
