Like its predecessor, the Honor Magic5 Pro has a curved screen on the four edges of the device, leaving only a very thin border and the illusion of a full screen. Resistant, it is IP68 certified, that is to say that it is completely sealed against water and dust. The smartphone is released in five colors: Glacier blue, Meadow green, Coral purple, Orange and the classic Black.
In addition to offering impeccable color management, the Honor Magic5 Pro allows you to enjoy HDR content very comfortably: its maximum brightness of 1,300 nits can reach up to 1,800 nits with this type of content. However, the Chinese manufacturer is pursuing its objective of protecting the eyes of its users, thanks to a pulse width modulation of 2160 Hz, and various additions to limit the impact of blue light, especially in the evening.
The Honor Magic5 Pro has three 50-megapixel sensors in its back module: a 23mm wide-angle lens with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 90mm ultra-wide-angle lens with with an f/2.0 aperture and 122-degree field of view, and a 90mm telephoto lens with OIS featuring an f/3.0 aperture capable of 3.5x optical zoom and zoom 100x digital. On the front, it offers a 3D front camera with a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor.
Unsurprisingly, the smartphone has power to spare since it features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, coupled with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage memory. The Honor Magic5 Pro has an impressive 5,100 mAh battery which should guarantee good autonomy, compatible with 66W wired fast charging and it supports 50W wireless charging.
The system will be based on the MagicOS 7.1 overlay, based on Android 13. It is part of the Magic Ring strategy, for complementary and transparent use with other devices, in particular your computer and connected objects. It will be marketed in Europe at the recommended retail price of 1,199 euros.
Presented very quickly, the Honor Magic5 is particularly thin with only 7.8 mm thick. It seems to have the same screen as the Pro model, and the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, this time coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of ROM. It also has a 5,100 mAh battery that is compatible with 66W wired charging. There was no mention of wireless charging support for this model.

The Honor Magic Vs, great finesse and high performance
As we revealed when we took a prototype of this folding book-style smartphone, the Honor Magic Vs looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, without being a copy. It’s powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and also offers 12GB of RAM to go along with it, along with 512GB of internal storage. euros.
Larger than Samsung’s flagship, it offers a 6.45-inch external screen with an AMOLED panel with FHD + definition (1080 x 2560 pixels, 382 ppi) and 21:9 ratio. This is nevertheless limited to a frequency of 90 Hz. The internal screen is also a little wider, with a diagonal of 7.9 inches and a flexible AMOLED panel with a definition of 1,984 x 2,272 pixels (431 ppi). ). And this time it offers a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and HDR compatibility.
The hinge, whose bend is barely perceptible to the finger, is guaranteed by the manufacturer for at least 400,000 opening and closing cycles. It does not allow the use of applications in “flex” mode, because it is impossible to keep the device half open, unlike what the Galaxy Z Fold4 offers.
