A survey of 60 million consumers on jams revealed the presence of pesticides in many jars sold in supermarkets. We reveal the jam that contains the most, to banish from the breakfast table.

We know they are rich in sugars and fruits, but the supermarket jams that sit on breakfast tables near industrial brioches, mueslis and other pastries are also full of pesticides, just like fruits and vegetables that are not not from organic farming. After having analyzed 40 strawberry and apricot jamsthe two best-selling flavors, 60 Million consumers published some conclusive results in its April 2023 issue. Of all the jams sifted through, 22 contain pesticides. These are no less than 15 different insecticide and fungicide molecules which have been found in the jams that we savor on our sandwiches.

Surprisingly at first glance, apricot jams are the most contaminated. This is actually explained simply because the cultivation of strawberries above ground is more easily controllable, as the magazine indicates. Even if the journalists managed to validate certain organic apricot jams, it is all the same an apricot jam which is the worst according to 60 Million consumers. It is Paquito Extra Apricot Jam sold at Intermarché. Prefer the best strawberry jam validated by the magazine.
