You’ve been playing Pokémon Legends Arceus for hours now, but you still don’t understand how and why Spatio-Temporal Distortions appear? This is quite normal since the answer had never been provided until today. What could be more frustrating than not having any faults for more than thirty minutes when you need a Magnemite or a Dinoclier to fill your Pokédex to 100%? Although there is still no way to force the appearance of distortions, you will see that several techniques will allow you at least not to delay them too much.
How do the faults appear?
It is the famous dataminer Anubis who finally lifted the veil on the functioning of Spatio-Temporal distortions. It is important to note that your chances of getting one are random : when entering an area (Marais Crimson for example) the appearance of a fault is determined immediately. It can then spawn 5 minutes after your arrival or 30 minutes after for example.
As indicated in the table below: the longer you stay in the area, the more likely you are to see one appear. Namely that 40 minutes is the maximum and that you will inevitably get a flaw at the end of the countdown. Also very important: if the sky is red (this activates at the end of the main scenario), your chances of getting a rift are higher.
However, the time elapsed before the appearance of a fault can stop if you perform the following actions:
- Start a fight against a Pokémon,
- Enter a cave by pressing A (return cave for example),
- Go to the game menus,
- Pass the time at the bivouac (except “a little time” which does not change anything),
- Talk to an NPC.
Thus, if your fault is supposed to appear after 20 minutes, this timer can be extended if you perform the actions above.
The best way to “cause” a rift is therefore to explore the area by capturing as many Pokémon as possible and collecting resources.
