From mid-December, it will be possible to obtain a repair bonus for its devices. The latter will take the form of financial assistance, the amount of which should vary between 10 and 45 euros, depending on the product.
Facilitating the repair of its electronic or electrical devices and equipment is one of the main priorities of the Agec law, or “anti-waste” law. It must encourage manufacturers, distributors and consumers to extend the life of machines. As such, a repair bonus will be launched as of December 15, 2022.
A network of repairers already in place, but still light
This financial aid, which arrives a year late, is intended to encourage consumers to go into the repair sector, rather than simply getting rid of devices that could have been given a second life. To benefit from it, it will nevertheless be necessary to take an intermediate step. The consumer who wants to take advantage of the repair bonus must call on an approved professional in the sector. It may very well be an industrial or independent repairer, a craftsman, and even the after-sales service distributor or manufacturer.
In theory, the network of repairers should be able to amount to 1,500 professionals. But for the moment, only 500 of them have obtained the precious label, granted under drastic conditions by a certifying body, for a period of 3 years.
31 types of equipment concerned and an immediate reduction visible on the invoice
To identify a certified repairer, two solutions are available to you: you can either go to the label-qualirepar.fr platform, or to the ecosystem.eco site, both of which have been validated by the competent authorities.
What equipment is affected?
A total of 31 types of equipment are eligible for the repair bonus. We find digital cameras, vacuum cleaners, game consoles, drones, washing machines, dishwashers, coffee machines, desktop and laptop computers, food processors, dryers, telephones fixed and portable, televisions or electrically assisted bicycles.
What is the bonus amount?
The amount of the repair bonus will vary according to the types of products. If you choose to have your washing machine repaired, you will get a tax-inclusive bonus of 25 euros. For a laptop, it will amount to 45 euros (the only device to reach this amount). Count on aid of 25 euros for products such as refrigerators and freezers as well as mobile phones or tablets.
Note that the repair bonus must take the form of an immediate reduction in the amount of the repair, applied and visible on the invoice directly. Its amount should be, in theory, between 20 and 25% of the total bill.
