To mark the launch of social leasing, the government has just launched a platform dedicated to the famous device which will allow you to purchase an electric car for €100 per month. In addition to concentrating the main information you need to know, the site also has a simulator to check your eligibility.

This Thursday, December 14, 2023, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron kicked off social leasing. As a reminder, this flagship measure presented for the first time in March 2022 will allow the most modest households from January 1, 2024 to acquire an electric car for between 50 and 150 euros per month depending on the model.

In the wake of the government announcement, the Stellantis automobile group today unveiled its dedicated offer, notably composed of 8 eligible electric models. Like many French people, you may be interested in the idea of benefit from this new boost from the State.

Fortunately, the Ministry of Ecological Transition has just launched a platform dedicated to the device called My electric leasing. On this site you will find all the information you need to know about the long-term rental offer for electric cars. But above all, users can find out if they are eligible or not via an ASP (Service and Payment Agency) simulator.

What are the steps to follow to check your eligibility?

In the rest of this article, we will detail together the different steps to follow to check your eligibility for social leasing:

  • First of all, you will need to bring your 2023 tax notice on 2022 income to determine if your reference tax income per unit is less than or equal to 15,400 euros
  • If so, you will be asked if you are browsing more than 15 km per day to get to your workplace, or more than 8,000 km per year as part of your professional activity
  • If you meet these two specific criteria, you can benefit from government social leasing

Let us remind you in passing that you must also be of legal age and be able to prove that you have a domicile in France. In addition, the system is intended to be extended in 2024 to all French people whose reference tax income is less than 15,400 euros. For now, only 20,000 people will be able to benefit from social leasing, the fault of a reduced fleet of electric vehicles.
