On Sunday, Grandpa Kroos was asked whether he would like to come to the Madrilenians’ Champions League game against the Eiserne. “Of course,” was the answer, which is why the pensioner got into the car on Monday and drove to Berlin. “Thank God not myself,” writes Toni Kroos and attaches a laughing smiley face behind it.
On Monday evening, the three of them recorded a new episode of the podcast “Einfach mal Luppen”, which Toni runs together with his younger brother Felix Kroos. Grandpa Kroos is a regular topic of conversation and is very popular among fans as the speaker for the sections and the podcast title. In the current episode, sitting next to the siblings is “straight and in great shape, wearing Real’s 2022 home jersey and with a mischievous smile: Grandpa Kroos,” it says in the description.
By the way, Grandpa Kroos was staying in a five-star luxury hotel on Potsdamer Platz. “Befitting your status,” as the grandson writes. The grandfather allegedly also accepted a broom closet as a place to stay overnight.
Another vodka and orange juice at 2 a.m
On Tuesday, Grandpa Kroos went “to the sports field” to watch Union against Real. The Madrilenians prevailed 3:2, “that was clear”. Toni Kroos comes into the game when the score is 0-1 in the second half. “You turned the thing,” is the grandfather’s verdict, which the grandson will certainly appreciate: “It’s just MY grandpa.” The analysis was of course “sober”: “based on his conclusion – not his condition”. After the game, the 87-year-old waited at the hotel bar to chat a bit. And “to order another vodka and orange juice around 2 a.m.”
