As of now, there is no official date for Season 4 of HSMTMTS as filming has not yet started. Nevertheless, production has already started and the plot for season 4 is set, so the new episodes are likely to start in summer 2023.

After a change of scene in Season 3 with summer camp, Season 4 is back at East High. However, chaos reigns there, because the filming of “High School Musical 4” has begun and is throwing up the regular school routine.

Not confirmed yet, but it’s very likely that we’ll see many cast members from the three High School Musical movies in Season 4, after all, the High School Musical 4 story only makes sense with them. Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel already played themselves on the show, but fans of yesteryear are eagerly awaiting the return of Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale.

But of course the (possible) prominent newcomers do not let us forget that the Disney + series has lost a popular cast member. In the season 3 finale, Nini made the decision to drop out of school to fully focus on her music career.

This move comes as no surprise given that Olivia Rodrigo’s own career has been so successful that she simply doesn’t have time for another season of HSMTMTS. A return, even if only as a guest appearance, is still possible, but currently you shouldn’t count on Olivia Rodrigo in Season 4.
