Hiking accident – broken ankle required the use of ten mountain rescuers

When hiking on the neighboring Mayoral Heights on the Müllnerberg (Kiblinger Höhenweg), the emergency services of the Bad Reichenhall and Freilassing mountain rescue services had to move out on Stefanitag.

They were called around 1:30 p.m. to an operation on the hiking trail near the Devil’s Cave. A 48-year-old hiker had broken her ankle and could no longer walk. The Ruhpolding mountain rescue emergency doctor had to provide emergency medical care to the woman. The injured person was then transported down to the Schruff in a lying position in the mountain stretcher. From there, the woman was taken to the district clinic in Bad Reichenhall. A total of ten mountain rescuers were on duty for a good two hours.
