The homophobic remarks of Minister Caroline Cayeux continue to make people talk within the presidential majority, including in the corridors of the Élysée. The Journal du Dimanche has just revealed the reaction of Emmanuel Macron.

Shocking words that immediately reacted on the side of the opposition and the majority.

According to information from Sunday newspaperin its edition of July 24, “the divergent reactions to this episode testify to the confusion that runs through the majority”. Several government figures expressed their outrage. Among them, Transport Minister Clément Beaune, himself a homosexual, who qualifies these remarks as“extremely hurtful”but also Christophe Béchu, Minister in charge of the Ecological Transition who says “understand those who have been hurt”. Another government figure to have expressed his indignation: Marlène Schiappa. The Secretary of State for the Social and Solidarity Economy and Associative Life asked her colleague to “take action”.
