“His reaction was ugly”: very bitter, Jacques Legros balances on Jean-Pierre Elkabbach

In a book that is already talked about a lot, journalist Jacques Legros talks about his vision of the profession since 1980, and in passing, settles a few scores with his former colleagues.

From his long experience as a journalist and because of the age that made him want to open up, Jacques Legros released a book confessions, entitled “Behind the screen”, which he refuses to consider as an autobiography. In these pages, the “1 p.m. joker” did not fail to scratch the image of a few colleagues, including Jean-Pierre Pernaut, but also another big name in French television, Jean-Pierre Elkabbach.

“His biggest professional disappointment”

For Jacques Legros, this is not the time for rounds of legs but rather for a clear and frank explanation. In his book, he considers Jean-Pierre Elkabbach as “his greatest professional disappointment”, recounting in his book an appointment with his colleague. He would have asked him if his questions had been written down, which made him very angry. “I will put Jean-Pierre Elkabbach at the top of the podium. His reaction was lousy.”he began to explain to our puremedia colleagues, “It’s as if I was asking you too if you had your questions written down, I think you wouldn’t take it very well. I think it’s because I was from Endemol and the journalist had some blinders considering that anything outside of journalism was filthy.”

At 71, the journalist who has officiated since 1998 on TF1 does not want to procrastinate or create controversy but obviously to set the record straight. However, as soon as his book was published, an “affair” resounded following his remarks concerning Jean-Pierre Pernaut. “All the rumors have circulated. I refuse to talk about ithas explained Jacques Legros,“The case is closed for me. We are in a country where we are lucky enough to be able to say what we want. On the other hand, from a journalistic point of view, launching a controversy over a title that is not even not an excerpt of what I wrote, without having read the book, by an interviewer who has not read the book, it bothers me a little. And an interviewer who also says that he tried to reach me , when it’s not true… It’s the icing on the cake.”
