The Tesla Model Y is the best-selling car in the world in the first quarter of 2023.
It is the first 100% electric vehicle to achieve this feat.
The Tesla Model Y tops sales!
Elon Musk had predicted it, the Tesla Model Y managed to rise to the top of the ranking of the best global sales in 2023, with regard to the first quarter. This is indeed what emerges from the figures provided by Jato Dynamics, which place the Tesla Model Y at the top of sales, ahead of the Toyota Corolla and the Hilux pickup from the same manufacturer.
In detail, Tesla would have sold more than 267,200 Model Y during the first quarter, against 256,400 Toyota Corolla and 214,700 Hilux. Quite a performance for the vehicle signed Tesla, which is the first electric vehicle to achieve this feat.
Towards a feat in 2023?
It is indeed the very first time that an electric vehicle has been crowned the top of the best-selling automobiles, all engines combined, in the world. At this rate, Elon Musk could therefore well and truly win his bet, namely that of making the Tesla Model Y the best-selling model over the whole of the current year.
With its recent price drop, and production that finally manages to meet demand, Tesla could well continue its impressive momentum in the coming months.
Tesla has met with great success in China with its Model Y, but also in the United States, with an increase in sales of nearly 70%, when Toyota Corolla sales fell by 10%. In Europe too, the Tesla Model Y would be the best-selling model during the first quarter of 2023, again according to Jato Dynamics.
In France, the Tesla Model Y is available from 45,990 euros, in its Propulsion version.
