Hogwarts Legacy 2 already promises to be a real slap in the face

Hogwarts Legacy 2 has recently worried more than one player, but this time, we have good news to report about the game. Unsurprisingly, it could well give us a big slap in the face.

Hogwarts Legacy was a simply monumental hit. At the same time, are we really surprised by this? An open-world adventure game set in the Harry Potter universe, it was destined for success. A sequel should normally see the light of day, which is rather logical. However, this has not always reassured fans, in particular because of recent statements from Warner Bros Games. So, to compensate, we bring you information that should normally make you happy.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 will put stars in our eyes

Future plans for the franchise “will allow fans to be part of this universe, these stories and these characters with ever greater immersion”. Here’s what David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive, told us about the license. The future therefore looks bright, at least on paper. We just have to forget the publisher’s comments about wanting more free to play games and service games/mobile games. Anyway, since we’re talking about the future, the sequel could well part with the use of Unreal Engine 4 and opt for UE5 instead. Just to amaze us.

It was a job offer spotted by user Tech4Gamers that ignited the situation. The position in question, Senior Character Artist, requires the person applying to have diverse and varied skills, and one of them quickly caught the eye of many. You need to have experience with engines like Unreal Engine 5. As a reminder, Hogwarts Legacy uses UE4, but obviously its sequel will instead choose its successor. An understandable decision, and which promises beautiful graphics.

Afterwards, we are not particularly surprised by this choice. Jose Villeta, who also works at Warner as director of software, had already expressed his desire to use the UE5. “We look forward to Unreal Engine 5 for our future projects, knowing that we already have a great foundation in place”, he explained in an interview. It must be said that it is slowly, but surely becoming a standard in large productions. Hogwarts Legacy 2 will simply follow suit, and we can’t wait to see the result. You just have to be patient, because it’s not for tomorrow.
