Hogwarts Legacy: Any microtransactions to expect? The game’s community manager speaks!

This Thursday, March 18, 2022 took place on State of Play that everyone was waiting for. For about twenty minutes, a sensational gameplay trailer and additional information from the developers were shown in order to learn much more about Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy. This was, for example, the opportunity to discover the personalization of his avatar, exploring Hogwarts castle, the fights against the different enemies, the fantastic animals or the housing and the making of potions. In short, varied activities and graphics that frankly make you want: fans will have to wait until the end of 2022 to be able to play it. Besides, note that the RPG Harry Potter was announced on the Nintendo Switch and that it is in no way a PlayStation exclusive.

The crafting system in the Room of Requirement

During the passage entirely dedicated to the Room of Requirement (Room of Requirements), we discover that it will be possible to access a part housing with our fantastic animals but also that it will be necessary to plant different ingredients to obtain resources. Mandrake or dittam, these elements will be necessary for the brewing potions and we see very clearly a time system like in most free-to-play mobile games. This therefore worried the players: will there be microtransactions in the game to buy time boosts or simply cosmetics to dress up our avatar?

Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy

No, there will be no microtransactions in Hogwarts Legacy

The game’s community manager, Chandler Wood, spoke immediately after the revelation of the State of Play, on Twitter. Many press articles were quick to indicate that Hogwarts Legacy would likely be filled with microtransactions following the introduction of the Room of Requirement, but that is not the case. Around 60 or 70 euros (depending on the platform), the Harry Potter RPG will be complete from the start and you won’t have to checkout for anything in the game. You just have to farm in-game money by completing side quests, solving mysteries or finding chests in dungeons.

The information was also confirmed on the official game website. In the Frequently Asked Questions section, we read in black and white that Hogwarts Legacy will not offer any microtransactions as it is an entirely single-player game with no online multiplayer or local co-op.

It remains to be seen now how we can really speed up the time (and if we can) in the game. Perhaps simply with the money collected or special crystals? The same goes for the multitude of cosmetics presented in the trailer: will it simply be necessary to farm the money to be able to add tons of clothes in her wardrobe? In any case, it promises a good lifespan.
