In front of the Gotthard north portal on the A2 motorway, the holiday traffic jam fell slightly to 14 kilometers on Saturday afternoon.
By midday, a traffic jam had formed 16 kilometers long.
The Swiss Touring Club (TCS) warns of a loss of time of up to two hours and 20 minutes.
The TCS expected more traffic towards Italy for the holiday season in July, especially between Friday and Monday. He also predicted waiting times on the A13, the San Bernardino route.
As early as Friday, the southbound traffic jam had increased to twelve kilometers, as TCS announced via Twitter. Last Saturday and Sunday the tin snake had grown to 15 kilometers in length in the afternoon.
