On the occasion of 100 years of Hollywood which we will celebrate next July, go back in time with this comic in two volumes not to be missed. In Hollywoodland, we are indeed in the 50s and we go behind the camera this time to discover the story of nine characters who will meet over the course of the story. Each with a different tone, they mainly describe a profession far from rhinestones and sequins.
Built in 1923, the HOLLYWOODLAND letters originally promoted a new real estate project that has lingered. Abandoned, they were restored in 1949 in the golden age of American cinema (the “LAND” part was then removed for reasons of economy). The remaining nine letters have since become THE symbol of this dream industry.
Behind this project, we can find Zidrou, writing and Maltaite, drawing. If the first volume was released last year, the second made its debut in our bookstores on June 7, just in time for the 100 years of Hollywood that every movie buff must celebrate.
