Homeowners in the hospital – farm buildings burnt down in Carinthia

A total of 130 firefighters had to respond to a fire in Patergassen (Carinthia) on Monday evening. A farm building was destroyed by flames.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. the sirens wailed in Patergassen and the surrounding towns and communities. For an unknown reason, the farm building of a property caught fire. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the Patergassen, Ebene Reichenau, Gnesau, Zedlitzdorf and Bad Kleinkirchheim fire departments, a major flaming inferno was prevented. However, the farm building burned to the ground. The 72-year-old homeowner was injured in the fire and had to be taken to the clinic in Klagenfurt by the rescue team. The exact cause of the fire is now being determined.
