Already well on the way to electromobility, the giant Honda continues to explore various avenues for the future, on four and two wheels. Today, we discover a new patent filed by the Japanese brand, which reveals a small electric two-wheeler visibly designed for shared rental.
Concretely, this is a very small, very compact electric scooter, which is mainly based around a battery located under the saddle. The handlebar can be folded, and the set is destined to be transported easily. But the main thing is elsewhere!
The possibility of creating… a convoy of scooters?
Indeed, if in appearance we find a scooter after all very classic, the concept signed Honda can merge with three other scooters, to form a convoy in the shape of a diamond. This coupling is dependent on the scooter placed in front, and the commands (acceleration, braking, etc.) are transmitted to the other three, which therefore act accordingly.
Honda has also taken care of the handling of the whole, since in turns, the scooter inside will slow down, when the one outside will accelerate. In this way, this machine made up of four vehicles will behave like a single scooter, and is intended to be controlled by a single person.
Presumably dedicated to self-service scooters, this concept would be very useful for fleet management. Thus, a single operator will be able to move four models, without the need for a truck or van to load them. It remains to be seen now if this patent signed Honda will really lead to something concrete or not.
