The 90 series was formalized in China recently and is long overdue on the Old Continent. Honor is now taking the lead with a third smartphone to complete the Honor 90 and 90 Pro: the 90 Lite. This entry-level smartphone targets young people by offering them some photo refinements and 5G compatibility.

The Honor 90 Lite renews the design of the Honor 50 Lite – which had not entirely seduced Digital — and the 70 Lite that succeeded it. Their shiny back is this time replaced by a plastic shell, but matte and with a slightly grainy finish. The manufacturer has opted for flat edges reminiscent of smartphones scratched with an apple, and adopts a photo block composed of two elements which give it a recognizable design. The device is lighter than its elders, which exceeded 190 g, and announces a weight of 179 g for dimensions of 162.9 x 74.5 x 7.48 mm.

New also on the front, since this year we are dealing with a 6.7-inch LCD panel, a little larger than that of the Honor 70 Lite, displaying 2388 x 1080 pixels and offering a maximum refresh rate of 90 Hz . The sensor dedicated to selfies (16 Mpx) is hidden in a central punch which gives a bit of modernity to the device.

Under its hood, the smartphone houses a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chip, an SoC which is positioned in front of Snapdragon 695 type processors. It is flanked by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. A 4500mAh battery compatible with 35W charging backs it up. Too bad that even if the smartphone comes out on Android 13, Honor only promises a major Android update with three years of security patches.

A 100 Mpx photo sensor

Honor 90 Lite

It is on the photo component of its smartphone that Honor intends to bet. The device is equipped with a main module with a 100 Mpx sensor supplemented by a wide-angle lens f / 1.9, which is high definition for its price category. A second module combines a 5 Mpx sensor and ultra-wide-angle optics, while a third 2 Mpx is dedicated to macro photos. It is more than the 70 Lite which skipped the ultra wide-angle, but this same module loses definition if compared to the Honor 50 Lite (8 Mpx).

On the video side, Honor announces shots up to 1080p with various creative functions for apprentice vloggers.

The Honor 90 Lite is available from June 20 at a price of €300, a price around which smartphones are becoming increasingly rare. It makes its debut with a dedicated introductory offer available on the brand’s website (€50 reduction and a free pair of Earbuds X5 headphones).
