Honor Magic Moments: a photo contest for “smartphotographers”

At a time when it might seem that the photo is only practiced with an expensive hybrid, Honor has been offering a photo contest since 2021 dedicated to shots captured with a smartphone. Like any photo contest worthy of the name, candidates must submit images on a specific theme in order to win a prize.

Up to $15,000 to be won

As every year, Honor directs its competition on the link between nature and technologies. Candidates can send their images in connection with six themes:

  • On the road : natural landscapes, local customs
  • Nature protection : environment, births, protected species, minorities, secret places
  • We : emotions, memories, portraits, group photos
  • On the spot : stolen photos of unique moments
  • Your story : series of three to nine photos telling a story (social, personal development, event)
  • Video : show the beauty of the world around us through short videos

Selected by a jury made up of professionals, which notably includes the French wildlife photographer Laurent Baheux, the winners will be awarded a prize, accompanied by a generous prize.

The photographer of the year whose photos convince the jury will pocket $15,000. Finalists in each category will win $5,000, $3,000, or $1,000 depending on where they place first through third. The six recommendations of the jury will be awarded an Honor Magic5 Pro smartphone while the 20 excellence awards will leave with a Numbers series smartphone such as the Honor 90 or 90 Lite.

In France, the photographer of the year will win €3,000 while the three excellence awards will get an Honor Magic5 Pro. The three recommendations of the jury will still win an Honor Magic5 Lite.

Photographers wishing to participate can go to the Honor Magic Moments website and submit their photo directly there. They also have the option of sending their image through the Honor Club.

In France, Honor does not apply any restriction on the material used provided that it is a smartphone. On the other hand, internationally, with the exception of the theme “Protection of nature”, it is compulsory to photograph with a phone of the brand, of course.

In addition, Honor does not fail to remind participants that they can also share their photo on Instagram with the hashtag #HONORMagicMoments, a good way to afford some visibility.
