Horizon Forbidden West: New patch brings VRR and 120Hz support

Updates continue for Horizon Forbidden West. The game has already received a major update a short time ago, with the arrival of a New Game + mode as well as a new difficulty mode, just to make Aloy’s adventure even more difficult. Guerilla Games continues its work on the game to improve it with the arrival of a new patch which will speak above all to those who have a sufficiently recent screen to display the game.

Aloy switches to VRR

Patch 1.17 of Horizon Forbidden West so allows the game to be compatible with 120 Hz screens, with the arrival of VRR support (Variable refresh rate), which reduces framerate drops. VRR support just arrived on the PS5 a short time ago, and Guerilla Games’ game can now take advantage of it.

Furthermore, a new graphics mode also allows the game to be displayed in 40 Hzagain for compatible displays and to avoid framerate issues.

This patch also brings some minor fixes to some in-game quests and various bugs.

Horizon Forbidden West is available on PS4 and PS5. You can also check out our full guide to learn more about the game.
