Horror: Stephen King validates this new film which is coming to streaming! Check out the trailer

Four years after the release of a remake, a prequel to “Simetierre”, adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic novel, arrives on Paramount+. Check out the trailer.

Simetierre is coming back – already! – on the screens. Four years after a new adaptation, a prequel arrives directly for streaming on Paramount+. This new plot adapts a previously unpublished chapter from Stephen King’s novel published in 1983.

The plot will take place in 1969 and will follow the footsteps of a young Jud Crandall – a character played by John Lithgow in the 2019 version and by Fred Gwynne in 1989. As he dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, in the Maine, he discovers sinister buried secrets and is forced to confront a dark family history that will keep him forever linked to Ludlow.

Uniting together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding and, once unearthed, has the power to destroy everything in its path.

The trailer suggests a very bloody film in the vein of Stephen King’s work. On his account (formerly Twitter), the writer shared his excitement about the film, saying:

The storyline takes some liberties, but it’s a good story. David Duchovny is excellent. The secret, as usual, is to care about the characters.” Something to reassure fans.

Alongside David Duchovny (X-Files), we will find some familiar faces like Henry Thomas – soon to appear in the series The House of Usher Falls on Netflix – and actress Pam Grier (Jackie Brown). The film is directed by Lindsey Beer – announced to be directing a remake of Sleepy Hollow.

Simetierre, the origins of evil, available on Paramount+ on October 7.
