Hoshi was almost “disfigured”: her painful testimony of a homophobic attack suffered at school: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Victim of hate messages, singer Hoshi decided to use her voice. The artist has repeatedly denounced the homophobic insults received anonymously on social networks, notably by taking legal action. On June 2, 2023, an Internet user was sentenced to eight months of imprisonment, including six months suspended on probation. Hoshi has suffered insults since his childhood. The 27-year-old young woman agreed to look back on her painful years at school, in the show Click on Canal + Monday September 18, 2023. She spoke of the school harassment she suffered over several years, including a specific episode which almost left her “disfigured”. “There was a girl who came up, took my head and slammed it against the ground. It was winter, so there was ice. A supervisor intervened and stopped it before I finished completely disfigured”, she confided to Mouloud Achour. His daily life has become an ordeal. “We are stressed about going to college. We avoid this person, we are also afraid of meeting them outside of college, because there too, attacks can happen. […] We live in constant stress.” A malaise in which she felt alone. “No one does anything”she concluded.

His “forced” coming out

Attacks that will make her think long and hard… about her sexuality. “It was hard for me, because the first time I asked myself the question about my sexuality, it was because of an attack”remembered Hoshi in the Canal+ show. “That’s how I started to say to myself, ‘Okay, I’m putting a word to what I am.’ It was later, in high school, that I told them after a while [à ses parents] that I was in love with a girl and that the situation meant that I had to tell them. And they took it very well.” As a reminder, Hoshi underwent a forced coming out after the publication of an interview by Paris Match. “I didn’t answer ‘I’m a lesbian’ simply because that wasn’t the subject. Because a forced coming out is useless and I don’t have to justify myself, I have no to be held accountable without preventing me from taking full responsibility for myself.”she lamented in a message published on Facebook on December 14, 2018. A sexual orientation that she evokes today to raise awareness among the general public.
