Sensitive fire alarm on Sunday evening in Wiesenfeld, Zwettl district: A homeowner (46), his sons aged 18 and 23 and a family friend had desperately tried to extinguish the exploded battery of a “soft gun” – but the source of the fire was not there soon to achieve more. The fire brigade arrived!
During a cozy meeting with friends in the basement parlor of the two-family house, the 46-year-old father is said to have gone into his son’s room on the upper floor purely by chance. Suddenly there was a small explosion and the battery for a softgun – a toy plastic bullet gun – caught fire. The quartet’s first attempts to put it out were unsuccessful, the smoke was too thick, they say. Four men had to go to the hospital. When the helpers arrived, the window panes had already shattered and the ceiling lamp had completely melted. The flames were eventually extinguished, but the four men had to go to the hospital. The extent of the damage is still unknown.
