  • Lord Cregan Stark is played by actor Tom Taylor.
  • With him comes a whole new wave of confirmations.

“House of the Dragon” Season 2 has finally found its strength! It’s no longer a secret that in the new episodes of the “Game of Thrones” spin-off we take a detour to Winterfell, a central location in the original series and seat of House Stark. Now we also know who will play Ned Stark’s great-great-great-great-grandfather.

Actor Tom Taylor takes on the role of Lord Cregan Stark (via Entertainment Weekly). Taylor most recently played Luther Jones, the brother of the main character Oliver (Ben Hardy), in the Netflix romance “The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight”. He stands out thanks to his rather unusual look. But the young actor also gained experience in larger projects such as “The Dark Tower” with Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey.

At the end of Season 1 of “House of the Dragon,” Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) sent her children across Westeros to find allies in the war against her half-brother Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney). While Lucerys (Elliot Grihault) is sent to Storm’s End and meets his end there, Jaecerys (Harry Collett) must travel to Winterfell to mobilize the Starks.

We have already summarized how the encounter between Lord Cregan Stark and Jaecerys Velaryon will go in the linked article. However, the book by author George RR Martin leaves some events unclear or open, so that the HBO series can provide clarity here.

In addition to Tom Taylor, a few other cast additions have been confirmed: Clinton Liberty as Addam Velaryon, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Ginster, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorn.

Fans of the original book already know from these names that the dragon seeds will be introduced in the new episodes, new dragon riders with Targaryen blood. Some of them can already be seen in the first trailer for “House of the Dragon” Season 2.
