how can I use it if I live in a nursing home?

Since 2021, residents of nursing homes can benefit from the energy check, this assistance in paying energy bills, the maximum amount of which can reach 277 euros. How to use it if you benefit from it?

You have until March 31, 2024 to use your 2023 energy, wood or fuel oil check. From the same month, the 2024 campaign will begin and if you live in a nursing home, you can also take advantage of this aid between 48 and 277 euros which allows you to pay your energy bill. If the scale can still change, last year, a person living alone had to have a reference tax income of 11,000 euros maximum to receive the energy check.

For residents of nursing homes, accommodation establishments for the elderly (Ehpa) and long-term care units (USLD) who benefit from this assistance, the process is simple once the coupon is received: send the energy check directly to the establishment manager, which will then deduct it from the amount of your fee including energy costs. The establishments are obliged to accept it as a means of payment.

In the hypothesis o you have retained an individual energy contract, you have three options:

  • You can use the energy check directly online on the Chequeenergie.gouv.fr portal
  • You can also send the energy check in paper format and by post to your energy supplier.
  • You can also opt for pre-assignment, that is to say the automatic transmission of the energy check to the supplier. The process is done online.
