How did Spotify choose sound cities?
In its text, Spotify specifies that “ sound cities selected for users » were chosen according to two factors: “ the most listened to artists by a user during the year and how these artists are listened to in other cities “. According to the streaming platform, “ it is an objective process that relies on the user’s listening history “.
Many cities have been designated as “Sound Towns”: although some have been much more talked about than others thanks to their popularity, 1,300 cities around the world were highlighted during Wrapped. As for the 6 most popular cities in the world, they are Berkerley, California, Burlington, Vermont, Cambridge, a city in Massachusetts, United States, Cuiabá, Brazil, and Jakartan Indonesia.
