And the movie?
Buzz Lightyear, the hero, was discovered in the four Toy Story films respectively released in 1995, 1999, 2010 and 2019. The Space Ranger burst the screens alongside Woody the cowboy, Mr Patate or Zigzag the dog. Being the first spin-off of the saga and Pixar studios, this film tells the true story of Buzz Lightyear. First an engineer astronaut, he eventually became a space ranger. With his commander and his crew, they leave for a mission of discovery of a galaxy. However, the team find themselves 62 years later in the future and stranded on an unknown planet. The latter is located about 4.2 million light-years from Earth. The hero tries to bring them back safe and sound, but the plan orchestrated by Emperor Zurg and his army complicates their task. This antagonist was also discovered in the second installment of Toy Story.
As for the design, the realization of Buzz Lightyear the Movie was entrusted to Angus MacLane, the one who also signed Finding Dory and Toy Story shorts. Pete Docter, one of the founders of Pixar and director of Up, Soul and Inside Out, wrote the script. In terms of casting, Chris Evans is headlining. In the original version of the film, he lends his voice to Buzz Lightyear. The French voice of the Space Ranger is that of Alexandre Gillet. In the film, other famous actors are also present. These include, for example, Taika Waititi who lent his voice to Mo Morrison, Peter Shon who plays Sox or even James Brolin for the voice of Emperor Zurg.
