Emmanuel Macron is at work on Tuesday, consulting party leaders in turn to find “constructive solutions” to prevent a political deadlock in the absence of a majority in Parliament. The Head of State receives in particular Marine Le Pen, who announced that she would not resume the head of her party to devote herself to the presidency of the RN group in the Assembly.

Marine Le Pen is received this Tuesday by Emmanuel Macron. The former finalist in the presidential election is obviously galvanized by the election of 89 RN deputies last Sunday. She announced on Monday, from her stronghold of Hénin-Beaumont, that she would not “take the lead” of her party, the National Rally, to devote herself to the presidency of the future RN group in the National Assembly. She therefore intends to remind the Head of State that she has changed in stature.

“Macron cannot continue the policy he has pursued”

“I am going to express to him the need that he obviously take into account the result of the legislative elections”, she declared at the microphone of Europe 1. “It is also necessary that the first opposition group which is that of the National Rally be heard in a number of areas which, for us, are extremely important. The French must be heard in what they have said and expressed by their vote, and he cannot continue the policy he has pursued because this policy did not win an absolute majority in the last legislative elections”.

Marine Le Pen also clarified that her group would not be “not an exclusively RN group” and that it would “tend to welcome” deputies elected “thanks to RN voters”, and who had supported her in the second round of the presidential election, citing Emmanuelle Ménard in Hérault or Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, in Essonne.
