Google has just rolled out various new features regarding its Pixel range. The Pixel Phones are notably equipped with a new function, which allows the user to leave Google Assistant answer an incoming call… for him.
Google has just announced a new round of features coming to its Pixel product line. This includes new health features for Watch watches, as well as productivity tools for the Pixel tablet. But the Pixel Phone family is not left out, with optimization of the “ Call Screen “.
What if you let Google Assistant answer for you?
“ The “Call Screen” feature gets even better and can now help start a call when the caller is unavailable », Indicates Google. Concretely, this allows you to virtually answer an incoming call, using Google Assistant.
For Google, it is therefore a question of optimizing a functionality already available, with a new “Hello” button which allows the system to converse with the caller. The AI will notably ask the latter why he is trying to contact us, and it is possible to hear his response in real time.
If the reason for the call is valid, the user is free to regain control of the conversation. If not, it can let the AI complete the call.
Also new for Instagram
An option also allows you to ask the caller to wait a little, if you cannot yet pick up the phone (if your hands are wet for example). In addition to the conversation in real time, the tool records the transcriptions of the exchanges, to allow the user to consult them as they wish afterwards.
Google specifies, however, that this new feature will not be available on all Pixel Phones. You will indeed have to be the owner of a Pixel 6 (or a higher model) to benefit from it. Furthermore, the option is only offered in English at present, and on American territory.
In addition, Google indicates that a recent update now allows you to capture and share video content in 10-bit HDR directly on Instagram, to create quality Reels, not forgetting Ultra HDR photos.
