The first trailer of the spin-off series “How I Met Your Father” is here – and actress Kim Cattrall can be seen as the narrator.
While her former “Sex and the City” colleagues have to grapple with the criticism of the sequel “And Just Like That …”, the British actress Kim Cattrall (65) shows herself in the first trailer of the series “How I Met Your Father” in the role of the narrator.
In the “How I Met Your Mother” spin-off, Sophie (Cattrall) tells her son the story of how she met his father. In the trailer, Cattrall is sitting on a couch and happily says to the camera: “This is the story of how I met your father.”
Before and after that you can see excerpts from this very story, which begins in 2021. Younger Sophie (Hilary Duff, 34) and her clique – Jesse (Chris Lowell, 37), Valentina (Francia Raisa, 33), Charlie (Tom Ainsley, 30), Ellen (Tien Tran, 34) and Sid (Suraj Sharma, 28) – are just about to find out who they are, what they want out of life and how to fall in love in this age of dating apps and limitless possibilities …
“How I Met Your Mother” achieved cult status
“How I Met Your Mother” ran from 2005 to 2014 and quickly achieved cult status. The series revolves around Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor, 47), who tells his children in flashbacks how he met their mother. Neil Patrick Harris (48), Cobie Smulders (39), Jason Segel (41) and Alyson Hannigan (47) embody Radnor’s chaotic circle of friends. Bob Saget (65) played the aged Ted Mosby, who tells the story in retrospect.
“This Is Us” producers take the reins
In April of this year, the US streaming service Hulu ordered ten episodes of the spin-off “How I Met Your Father”. The showrunners are “This Is Us” producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. The inventors of the original series, Carter Bays (46) and Craig Thomas, are also involved in the production. Leading actress Hilary Duff is also part of the production team. Series production starts on January 18th.
