How Russia staged the arrest of the world’s most clichéd ‘neo-Nazis’

War between Ukraine and Russiacase

The Kremlin announced the arrest of “six pro-Ukrainian neo-Nazi militants” charged with assassinating Russian media personalities close to power. But everything suggests that it is a rather crude staging orchestrated by Moscow.

The Russian security services (FSB) published a spectacular video of the arrest on April 25 on social networks. Six men, presented as neo-Nazis, are arrested in their apartment in Moscow. The evidence against them is overwhelming. The agents go so far as to discover a notebook where the pseudo-terrorists describe their assassination plan in detail.

In the video at the top of this article, the head of the Planet department of Release, Sonia Delesalle-Stolper explains why this arrest appears to be a ridiculous staging by the FSB in an apartment filled with swastikas and portraits of Adolf Hitler. Since 2014, this method has been regularly used by the Kremlin to serve its anti-Ukrainian propaganda.
