More aesthetic and intended to be even more relaxing for heavy riders, these new handles for urban bikes and VTC Ergon GP1 Evo arrive at an unchanged price.
Ergon grips are common on e-bikes, but are generally more discreet than a Bosch motor or Shimano brakes. We still recognize them with the logo on the sides, and they are especially famous. As proof, we find them on the last Canyon Precede: On. Above all, the German manufacturer markets ergonomic handles – hence the name – including the new GP1 Evo model, we learn from Bike Rumor.
A modern version of the GP1, the Ergon GP1 Evo has a laser-cut, grippy rubber compound surface. This evolution is supposed to be even more grippy on the palms, and softer to the touch.
These electric or muscle bike handles are suitable for urban, VTC or trekking machines, for those who ride a lot and whose wrist rest is necessary. We note in passing a weight loss, from 165 to 155 grams.
Recycled and even organic cork
Another point that has surely not escaped you is the tightening bolt. Invisible from above, it migrates under the handle, to be less subject to water or dust deposits. The internal plastic is now recycled, with the aluminum of the clamp being recycled aluminum, as on the old GP1 model.

Finally, note that the latter coexists – because it is adapted to the two existing versions – with an asymmetrical pair whose short right handle leaves room for the rotary transmission lever such as Shimano Nexus, Enviolo or Rohloff. Good news, the price of the pair of Ergon GP1 Evo handles is stagnating at 39.95 euros, despite now being manufactured in Germany. A variant in organic cork “BioKork” is sold in parallel, more ecological but at 200 g and 49.95 euros.
