Hop! You have decided to change your music streaming service from Spotify to Apple Music. Obviously, you would like to transfer your data like your precious playlists. However, this does not happen automatically and there are no official tools to achieve this. Fortunately, there are methods through third-party services.
There is nothing more frustrating than moving from one service to another and losing the good habits we have become familiar with. This is also valid for email clients, for SVoD services, for VPNs, but also on music streaming platforms.
By browsing a little on the good deals of Frandroid, you have probably already come across a free subscription offer for a given period, allowing you to try a service that you have been eyeing for a while. Apple Music is certainly one of them. But you have difficulty breaking away from your little habits with Spotify such as the list of your favorite artists, your playlists or even your famous playlists. On this last point, even if there are no official methods, it is possible with some third-party methods to be able to import them from Spotify to Apple Music.
Why Apple Music?
It’s also a good reason to upgrade to Apple’s music service if you’ve recently entered the ecosystem recently via a purchase of an iPhone, Apple Watch, or even a HomePod.
In addition, we are not going to lie, with the Arlesian Spotify Hi-Fi which is still not there, the temptation to migrate to a musical service with a library of songs in CD quality without loss (lossless) or Even Dolby Atmos compatible on your compatible devices is a significant argument.
How to transfer your Spotify Playlists to Apple Music?
As said above, Spotify does not provide an official method for exporting data and importing it into another service. Fortunately, there is a list of third-party services that specialize in this, such as Soundiiz, Tune My Music and SongShift. They all work on the same principle, namely synchronization of accounts in “mirror Sync” mode to copy account activities, and therefore the famous playlists. These are also compatible with most music streaming services such as Youtube Music, Deezer, Tidal or Amazon Music.
We chose to use Tune My Music, which seemed to us to be the most complete and practical tool.
- Open the Tune My Music online app.
- Select Spotify as the source you want to transfer the playlist from.
- Log in to your Spotify account.
- Once connected, Tune My Music displays two options to retrieve the Spotify playlists you want to transfer. You can upload your playlist(s) from your accounts or insert the playlist URL on Spotify. Select the method you want to transfer to Apple Music.
- Then choose Apple Music to transfer your playlists.
- Sign in to your Apple Music account.
- Once the source and destination accounts are connected, click the button Start transfer.
- Once the transfer is complete, check your Apple Music account to make sure all the desired playlists and songs have been moved successfully.
These tools also offer constant synchronization options allowing you to use two or more services while maintaining your playlists in each platform. There may also be limits to the number of songs you can transfer. These are often paid options, so remember to check carefully beforehand if this interests you.
Please note, however, that with these methods, certain errors may occur during the transfer process. This is usually due to inadequate or inaccurate metadata, but fortunately, errors are rare and easy to correct. When this happens, all you have to do is search for the song manually on Apple Music and add it to the playlist of your choice.
