With CES 2024 fast approaching, and against the backdrop of the launch of Intel Core Ultra SoCs last week and the arrival of Nvidia 4000 Super graphics cards at the start of the year, manufacturers are ready to update their ranges of PC. Moreover, a Windows Report blog post published this Monday, December 18, 2023 reveals all the information concerning the next HP Omen laptop: the Transcend 14.
An ultra-compact Omen gaming PC for 2024
After tackling the Galaxy Book 4, Windows Report puts an end to the suspense concerning the HP Omen Transcend 14.
To appeal to gamers, the brand is presenting a very compact 14-inch model. A marketing image also ensures that it is “the world’s lightest 14-inch gaming laptop”. The information shared by the media reveals a weight of 1.637 kg and dimensions of 313 x 233.5 x 17.99 mm.
In terms of design, this new model is very similar to the HP Omen Transcend 16, while adopting some changes to adapt to the 14-inch format. We are thus entitled to two grilles at the rear to circulate the air, while the 16-inch version also had side grilles.
The connectivity is also intended to be lighter, but remains very complete for an ultraportable:
- A Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) port and a 3.5 mm jack on the left edge;
- Two USB-A ports on the right edge;
- An HDMI port and Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) on the back between the two air vents.
For the technical sheet, the HP Omen Transcend 14 has a 14-inch Oled screen with a definition of 2880 x 1800 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 48-120 Hz; an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H or Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor; an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050, 4060 or 4070 GPU; 16 or 32 GB of LPDDR5X 7467 MHz RAM; 512 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB PCIe 4 SSD; a 71 Wh battery, for a maximum autonomy of 11.5 hours and 140 W fast charging; wifi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 or wifi 6E with Bluetooth 5.3.
Windows Report concludes by stating that the HP Omen Transcend 14 “will be available in two colors: Shadow Black and Ceramic White”. Although the launch date or price has not been revealed, we believe that the HP Omen Transcend 14 will be officially presented at CES 2024.
