Alongside the MateBook X Pro 2022
, Huawei announced its new connected watch
with ECG and blood pressure sensor.

Simply called “Huawei Watch D”, this watch with a very square design will be particularly focused on health, with interesting innovations.

Health is all that is true

It is little to say: Huawei uses a maximum of sensors in its Watch D to make it a perfect ally of health. We will therefore be entitled to the rather classic information that we find on many competitors, namely heart rate, sleep monitoring, the number of steps and distance traveled as well as an electrocardiogram (ECG). The latter, present for some time on the Apple Watch and Samsung watches to name a few, was still absent from Huawei subscribers.

But where the Chinese brand has decided to go a little further is by offering a particularly precise blood pressure measurement, with a margin of error set at around 3 mmHg (millimeter of mercury). This feat is made possible by the use of the Huawei TruBP, a sensor that uses micro air pumps to measure pressure at the wrist. The purely technical details of this technology were not disclosed, however.

Finally, the Huawei Watch D is designed to be able to detect the risks of atherosclerosis, arrhythmia and sleep apnea. The brand has partnered with no less than 301 hospitals in China to test the reliability of its watch which has, in passing, been registered as a class II medical device, just that.

An AMOLED screen to better see your heart rate

Because the Huawei Watch D is above all a connected watch, it is rather logical that the brand has decided to use quality material to manufacture it and thus speak to the technophiles that we are. The device will therefore be equipped with a 1.64 “AMOLED screen with a resolution of 456 x 280 pixels (and a density of 326 ppi). The case is made of aluminum alloy and will be available in two colors, at namely black and titanium.

The watch can be used with an 13.3 cm long or 11.8 cm strap, but Huawei will not offer different formats for the case itself, which also has two buttons on the right edge. . Said case weighs 40.9 grams and is IP68 certified (protection against dust and submersion to a depth of one meter for one hour).
