Huawei wants to attack again with a top smartphone

Huawei P50 Pro

Huawei just doesn’t want to give up. The Chinese company is now planning to release a top smartphone to compete against the iPhone 13 Pro as well as the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22. In doing so, Huawei is missing an important opportunity.

Huawei P50 Pro still comes with Android

Huawei presented its current high-end smartphone, the P50 Pro, in China at the end of July 2021. It is the official successor to the Huawei P40 Pro, which is currently only available in China. Since then, one has been wondering whether and when the top smartphone will also be sold in Europe or other countries. If you believe the information that has now emerged, it should happen soon. Huawei Malaysia (watch on Twitter) has indicated that the smartphone will soon appear there too.

As a result, information from China emerged (source: MyDrivers), according to which the Huawei P50 Pro should not appear in the rest of the world with HarmonyOS 2.0 or 3.0, but with EMUI 12 based on Android. Huawei decides to consciously use Android in the rest of the world even for brand new devices that have appeared in China with HarmonyOS, although HarmonyOS should have been the standard for a long time.

Huawei has only recently proven that the choice of the Android operating system is no coincidence. In Germany, the Nova 9 and Nova 8i also came on the market with Android 11 and EMUI 12. Already there HarmonyOS was actually the new standard at Huawei. This decision doesn’t make a lot of sense, because one way or another you don’t have any Google apps and services available.

Technically, the Huawei P50 Pro leaves a really strong impression:

Is the Huawei P50 Pro coming to Germany?

This question has not yet been answered. Without Google apps and services it wouldn’t make a lot of senseto sell the Huawei P50 Pro in Germany at a price of around 1,000 euros. This has not been successful with the Huawei P40 Pro (for testing) and Mate 40 Pro (for testing). The software that you get from other manufacturers is simply missing.
